After the Hang was becoming very hard to get it was just natural to have new makers coming to this world inspired by the Hang, in 2009 Ezahn joined this wave and his unique style in design and quality took the eye of the hand pan scene and soon many of the devoted player will be playing his instruments and share beautiful music with the world…
Recently Ezahn and his crew opened the workshop doors for small intimate concerts called “Living room sESSion”, Pan Fans come to these concerts from different countries and enjoy this almost “private” concert, around 25 people attended this concert and it was very nice to share some music and vibe.
What you can see online is very limited so it was a special experience to come to the Echo sound sculpture workshop and meet the people behind the Asachan and Mirim, Ezahn and Flavio are the makers behind the scenes, Ezahn is a chilled guy originally from Bangkok in Thailand and Flaviao is an energetic philosophic guy originally from Sao Paulo Brazil, both have come to live in Switzerland in the name of love and have swiss wives and very nice way of life here in a small village close to nature, playing music, making instruments and developing together.
As a maker myself It was very interesting to see the differences and similarities in the way we work, I really loved the space they work in, a lot of room and a lot of light, and you can feel the character, since Ezahn is as a musician and painter several paintings are shown in the workshop and add a lot to the vibe.
The concert went really good, I played mostly new material on a Hijaz and Pygmy I made recently, after my concert, Lauri Wuolio played and shared some cool music, he’s using an iPad and a Handpan so he can play electronic based tracks he’s working on, I definitely enjoyed it.
One thing I always love about traveling to colder countries is having cold showers ! I mean, it’s very healthy and makes your heart work better, In Israel during the summer even the cold water is slightly warm! And of course, all the green hills and swiss scenery is a great thing to relax into.
Connecting to people, music and nature is a great mix, it was great to visit and hopefully will visit again the near future, thanks for the hospitality, good talks and positive vibes!
Till next time.
